I am sharing images of Tirta Empul Temple in Bali, taken in July 2024. On this day, I set out from Ubud in a chartered car to visit the Kintamani area. I arrived at Tirta Empul at around 11:00 a.m., after visiting the Tegallalang Rice Terrace.
This is one of Bali’s most famous temples, so it was also one of the highlights of my trip. Tirta Empul is well known as a holy spring water temple, and I certainly found it to be a mysterious and atmospheric place. I was especially interested in the unique style of the statues and carvings throughout the temple.
However, there were far more tourists than I had expected. I had no plans to take part in the purification ritual, so it did not affect my schedule. But if I had decided to do so, I think I would have had to skip several places in the Kintamani area later that day.
